Hare B&B are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. Any personal information we hold about you is stored and processed in line with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who are we?

Hare B&B is primarily a small pet boarding service. We also look after small pets (including cats) in their own home, and offer a dog walking service.

What information do we collect?

We will collect the following personal information from you by way of the online booking enquiry form, the Owner and Pet Profile Form and the Veterinary Release Form:

  • Name, Address, Email, Telephone numbers, Emergency contact details, and any other relevant information with regards to you and your pet’s requirements such as; alarm codes, veterinary information, photographs and videos of your pet

How do we use your personal information?

We use your personal information in the following ways:

  • for our own internal use including financial records

  • to contact you with regards to your booking enquiry and provide you with the necessary information you and we require to confirm a booking and ensure a safe and happy environment for your pet

  • in cases of emergency when your pet is in our care

  • to conduct home visits if we are visiting your pet in your home

  • to notify you about any changes to our services, temporary or otherwise

Who has access to your personal information?

Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential, and will not be shared with third parties.

How do we store your data?

We will always hold your information securely. To prevent unauthorised disclosure or access to your information, all online forms can only be accessed by the owner of Hare B&B by way of security password and two-factor authentication. We never log in to our account on public Wi-Fi and we only ever send the Google Forms links to our clients. We also keep a hard copy in a fireproof, lockable folder.

How long do we keep your data for?

We keep all financial records (which include your name and address) for the recommended six years, but we keep personal records for THREE YEARS, unless you are a returning customer and you are happy for us to store your personal information and refer to it when necessary. You can ask us to delete or remove the information at any time, once we have provided the service that you required.

What are your data protection rights?

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have several important rights available to you. In summary, these are: The right to request;

  • the information we hold about you. We aim to share this information with you within 30 days of you asking

  • that Hare B&B correct any information you believe to be inaccurate or incomplete

  • that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions

  • that Hare B&B restrict processing of your personal data, under certain conditions and the right to object to its processing

  • that Hare B&B transfer data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

How do we make changes to this policy?

We regularly review and, where necessary, update our privacy information. We recommend that you check this page periodically to review the latest version.

How do you contact us or make a complaint about your personal data we hold on file?
